Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Holy, Holy, Holy
What do angels do all day?
They don’t eat.
They don’t shop.
They don’t watch TV or play video games.
So just what do they do all day?
They Sing!
They sing,
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts
Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Is. 6:3
Does that song sound familiar?
It should.
We sing it too at every Mass.
But Why do they sing?
Because they behold God face to face!
They are so filled with joy
That all they can do is sing!
Sing for joy for all eternity!
What on earth fills us with this kind of joy,
That makes us sing all day, everyday?
Nothing!
Vacations always come to an end.
If your team wins the championship;
A new season begins the next year and you have to start all over again.
Even the joy of graduations, weddings, and ordinations eventually subsides.
Everything in this world is passing away,
So NOTHING in this world will ever give us lasting joy.
Absolutely Nothing.
So if your joy rests in this world and all it holds;
Your joy is going to come to an end.
Only Jesus gives us the Fullness of joy that lasts forever. Jn. 15:11
Because, whoever has seen Jesus,
Has seen the Father. Jn. 14:9
Like the Angels have.
That is why we come to Mass.
For like the angels,
At Mass We too behold God face to face.
Although dimly as in a mirror. 1 Cor. 13:12
But we behold Him nonetheless.
And we know that one day our joy will be so full.
That like the angels;
We too will sing for all eternity.
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
God Bless
